Listen! the Sea is Crying

Los Angeles, 2023

While film may not be the favored medium for many, it remains my primary avenue for creative expression. The film offers unique colors and graininess that elude digital simulation. The inability to instantly review captured photos fosters heightened focus and appreciation for each moment. The film's "unpredictability," seen in distinct colors resulting from positive and negative film development or the uncontrollable effects of varying temperatures, adds a layer of authenticity. In "Listen, the Sea is Crying," a serendipitous moment occurred when I unintentionally used film left in a hot compartment, resulting in unique patterns and textures that heightened the melancholic yet romantic emotions captured.
